I ran active ports and found that explorer.exe was talking to a remote ip. The malware it self is actually pretty simple really. Since the pc had a backup of documents, I proceeded with a OS reinstall, however I would like to know what kind of malware was I facing? The drop down should be used as Trusted Add the address ( plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com) and include a brief description.
I don't want a solution for this virus(?) problem. It's Exim that rejects the email, but it's fetchmail that loses the email by deleting it from the pop3 mailbox when fetchmail knows it hasn't successfully passed it on to Exim. I have configured the incredimail to my yahoo pop account and allowed access on zone alarm so why does this still come up. Full text and rfc822 format available. The 52 IP addresses 184.108.40.206, 220.127.116.11, 18.104.22.168, 22.214.171.124, 126.96.36.199, 2…It uses the 13 name servers A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L and M.ROOT-SERVERS.NET. The click the Lookup (the ZA will perform a dns lookup). It was then I noticed a window had popped up(it was not a pop up). The IP address 188.8.131.52.There are nine host names that point to the IP address 184.108.40.206 hosted by Yahoo BF1 in Sunnyvale, United States.
fetchmail has just lost 3 out of 10 messages. I enabled that and the internet was back on(The pc connected through wifi). Then make sure the incredimail application(s) in the ZA Program listing has not just the Trusted and Internet Access, but also the Trusted server allowed. The Port 995 is a secured POP3 connection (actually it is refered as POP3S) , not just the usual unsecured POP3 (port 110, both TCP and UDP) connection.

What this was, quite simply, was a bit of botnet malware.
