Right click "iexplore.exe", then check properties>Details>File version.I use the PT-BR version of Windows, so I don't know for sure the name of the commands. Thank you!!! This fixed everything in 1 minute. Because i was frustrated due to this problem. Option 3 worked for me.

It may also indicate a virus or malware infection, as some viruses and malware are not active in safe mode. The process is simple and there is actually no installer to run. Could not have been an easier, faster, or more perfect solution. Either way, your IE instructions got me the desired result.
