Whilst the record for your old machine may still be pointing to your old machines name, the DHCP IP address for the old machine could have been assigned to someone else.

Also, just to iterate, when you ping bbcoxgate.local, it will resolve to the LdapIpAddress. I asked a coworker to ping my machine to confirm my findings. Could the router have cached that IP with that computer name? If the DNS server has the wrong association between MachineA and an IP address, it will send back the "wrong" IP address when receiving a DNS request for that machine.
