Spybot is very good, mine runs realtime and picks up anything that tries to edit the registry without me knowing about it. finally got rid of all "Tune-Up" related stuff that AVG installed (uninvited) on my computer.  In the industry (the one that AVG used to be part of) we call it "Crapware".  Find someone local if you can. i care too much about my shit to trust some calendared algorithm.
